Central District met in Cleveland starting with a wonderful lunchtime presentation by Tina Wasserman on Jewish Cooking from a historical perspective. Our theme was Go Green, Sisters: Sisterhood, You and Environmental Responsibility. We began the discussion of the theme with a seminar on text study led by Rabbi Joan Glazer Farber.
Rabbi Joan Glazer-Farber and WRJ Vice President Sharon Benoff spent the weekend with us adding so much to the convention. We were joined by Dr. David Stein on Saturday. Shabbat was shared among the three sisterhoods in Cleveland. We visited the Maltz Museum and had a cantorial concert before Havdalah and installation.
The YES Fund was on our minds as we participated in both a silent and live auction and heard testimonials to the work of the fund. We left spiritually-full having enjoyed our sisters and our Shabbat together and with thanks to our hosts in Cleveland.

Women from the Central District listened to outstanding speakers, shared with each other, and worshipped with 5,000 other Reform Jews while attending the 48th WRJ Assembly. Many poignant moments were experienced during the five days that they were together. Mark your calendars for the 49th WRJ Assembly that will take place in San Diego, CA, December 2013.
