WRJ Central District Sisterhood

WRJ Resources

As an affiliate of WRJ, you have access to many resources from both WRJ Central District and from WRJ. Both organizations have four departments:

  • Service to Sisterhoods
  • Programming & Advocacy
  • Development & Special Projects
  • Marketing & Communications

A vice-president, with chairs that specialize in the areas covered, leads each district department. In addition to the vice-presidents, WRJ also has professional staff managing the four departments.

On the WRJ website, there are additional resources for sisterhood presidents not directly available to other members of a sisterhood. One of the most valuable is the Sisterhood Presidents Listserv where women discuss issues important to you. Please contact Pat Cwiekalo at the WRJ office (212)650-4062 to join the listserv. Also, presidents are able to sign into private areas of the WRJ where extensive material is available under the heading Leadership Materials. You will find administrative pieces from the WRJ Constitution and official style guide to advocacy resources, sisterhood guides and manuals, a YES Fund Powerpoint presentation and pledge cards, and downloadable materials that will help you run your sisterhood most effectively.

In 2007, WRJ released the publication of The Torah: A Women’s Commentary. The book has received accolades worldwide and is but one example of what women, working together, can achieve. WRJ Central District is a proud supporter of the commentary and encourages sisterhoods to use it for study and as a tool for educating congregations about sisterhood.

Our district publishes a quarterly newsletter, Isha L’isha – Women to Women, with important and timely information about both district and WRJ activities. Successful programs and activities that have occurred within our district are also shared. You will find the current and archived newsletters in this section of the district website.

Central District also has a blog, Sharing the Best to share and find information about sucessful programs and projects from local sisterhoods. Enter your information and images easily with the blog interface.
