WRJ Projects

World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ)

WUPJ is the umbrella organization of Reform, Progressive and Liberal Judaism, working in more than 43 countries throughout the world.

The work of WUPJ includes:

• Establishing and nurturing synagogues in Israel, the former Soviet Union, Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe
• Striving for social justice, affirming Jewish identity and pursuing equal rights
• Training future religious and educational leaders and giving them the necessary support in their community efforts, and
• Guiding Jews from isolation and persecution into a new era of freedom.

WRJ is the women's affiliate of the World Union and is represented on its Governing body and its North American Board. It has the responsibility to raise a share of the WUPJ budget. Sisterhoods and individuals sending contributions to WRJ earmarked for WUPJ can meet this goal.

Friend $100 annual
Friend Plus $101 to- $249 annual
Guardian $250 to - $499 annual
Sponsor $500 to - $999 annual
Benefactor $1,000 to $1,499 annual
Patron Circle $1,500 to $2,999 annual
Honor Circle $3,000 or more annual

Note: Sisterhoods should issue their checks directly to WRJ with a notation at the bottom directing it to the WUPJ. If the checks are not made payable in this manner, WRJ cannot credit nor acknowledge your Sisterhood's contribution. Consequently, you would miss having the recognition you so richly deserve at the WRJ Assemblies.
